DC Movie Casting: Batgirl by psylockefan DC Movie Casting: Batgirl by psylockefan
BATGIRL: Liana Liberato (Trespass, Trust, Erased, Stuck in Love)

Batgirl: Daughter of Detective Jim Gordon, Barbara became a crime fighter by chance. Drawing inspiration from Batman, as a teenager, she was taken under his wing and trained to be a lethal hero. After years on the job, she was eventually shot and paralyzed by the Joker. This caused her to take on a new identity as the oracle, using her knowledge of crime to lead her own team. In the New 52 reboot, she is now able to walk again. Making her Batgirl!

Liana Liberato: When casting Batgirl, I knew I wanted a teenager. I have always wanted a teenage Barbara/Batgirl on film. I found Liana (she is 17-years-old) through another cast, and I looked into her work; she is AMAZING. I first saw her in Trust, where she gives an absolutely stunning performance. She was moving, and really brought you to tears when needed. She proved with a single film and scene that she has what it takes. I then saw her star alongside Aaron Eckhart in a thriller/action film, called Erased. Here, she proves she can not only handle action, but create a bond between herself and her "father" on screen. Which, I feel, is important. Batgirl has used both Detective Gordon (her real father) and Batman as fatherly figures. I feel like Liana would be perfect!

I loved her role in Trust. What do you think about Anna Popplewell as Barbra Gordon? (Chronicles of Narnia, Halo: Forward Unto Dawn)

Never heard of her, but it's not bad. I obviously went with Ariel Winter because she played Carrie Kelley, and it was similar to Barbara Gordon.
